Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Starfield get banned in the United Arab Emirates

United Arab Emirates Starfield Spider Man 2 ban UAE

Players living in the United Arab Emirates won’t be able to get their hands on Starfield and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 easily.

Both games have been banned in the UAE, and users will have to resort to whatever method they can to acquire the games.

The inclusion of same-sex relations and LGBTQ+ friendly content in both games is most likely the reason for the ban, although the National Media Council doesn’t really justify their actions, leaving players to speculate on what the forbidden content was.

PlayStation exclusive titles seem to be at a higher risk of being banned, as the country has also banned the God of War series, Heavy Rain, The Last of Us (weirdly only part 2), Final Fantasy XVI, and more.

Reddit users residing in the United Arab Emirates are currently using USA accounts or VPNs to purchase their games, as online stores like Steam seemingly doesn’t seem to be regulated.
