Lords of the Fallen 2 no longer an Epic Games Store exclusive

Lords of the Fallen 2

Fans waiting for Lords of the Fallen 2 just got some unexpected but very welcome news. CI Games has officially ended its publishing agreement with Epic Games, meaning the upcoming action RPG will no longer be tied exclusively to the Epic Games Store on PC.

The original agreement, signed in 2024, gave Epic exclusive publishing and distribution rights for the PC version throughout the game’s lifecycle.

However, a separation agreement finalized in April 2026 has now released CI Games from those obligations, allowing the company to self-publish the sequel across multiple platforms.

For PC players, this is arguably the biggest takeaway. Instead of being limited to a single storefront, Lords of the Fallen 2 is now expected to launch on Steam alongside other platforms, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The reaction from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. Ever since the original exclusivity deal was announced, many players voiced concerns about not being able to purchase the game through Steam.

Considering the first Lords of the Fallen sold more than a million copies on Valve’s platform, it’s easy to understand why fans wanted the sequel to be available there as well. From a business perspective, the decision makes a lot of sense.

Steam remains the dominant platform for PC gaming, and launching on the largest storefront possible gives the game the best chance to maximize sales and visibility. In an increasingly competitive market, limiting a major release to a single store can be a difficult sell for both players and publishers.

Lords of the Fallen 2 is set to launch sometime in 2026 for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and Steam now, too), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
