Like a Dragon Gaiden adds “ageist remark” into English version

A screenshot from Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name has revealed that the English version of the game contains a topical western term.

The game was found to include the western term “ageist”, which many are assuming was not in the original Japanese version.


A Twitter user uploaded the screenshot online, which had a character requesting another to not be “ageist”:

Many are suspecting this addition was made only to the English version of the game, as the term originates from the west, and is merely another way in which westerners try to control how others speak and act.

The comments suggested that there are more instances of odd “localization choices” as well.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name was just released on November 9, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows (through Steam).
