I’d totally be okay with Dark Cloud 3. With today’s tech, if they brought back the town building element from 2, they could get crazy with the customizing.

I’d like another game like the first Dark Cloud. Dark Cloud 2 just felt really boring to me for some reason.

Nothing to do with Level-5 other than Dark Cloud’s aesthetics reminding me of it, but I’d love to see another Bumpy Trot (Steambot Chronicles).

There is already an remastered version on PS4. One of the first PS2 games released on that PS2 on PS4 thing actually.

If we get a Dark Cloud 3 and it doesn’t have multiplayer shoved in, or microtransactions of any kind, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Because these days, is not about getting the sequel you always wanted, is about getting the sequel you always wanted that doesn’t try to fuck you in the ass with a roll of sandpaper.

I’ll be down with Dark Cloud 3. Those games had some great ideas but poor execution.

I thought I was in the minority when it came to preferring Dark Cloud 1. The combat in 2 was better but everything else was worse.

This means we might be able to play another Rogue Galaxy? Neat.

Nowadays its more likely you get a REBOOT instead of a sequel.

I preferred the town building set up from the first game, but other than that, I totally agree.

Mostlikely a Dark Cloud spiritual successor so they don’t have to deal with Sony’s bullshit.

Nah. I know this is anecdotal at best, but almost everyone I have known who’s played both tend to say DC1 is better than DC2. (Fun fact, it’s not even called Dark Cloud 2 in Europe and Japan, but instead Dark Chronicle.) I have yet to play much of DC2, but I wasn’t too impressed with what I have played. Wasn’t any town building (so far, I am told there is some later, but DC1 had town building almost instantly)

Preferably this time uncensored and letting me name the damned character. The Japanese version let you, but for some reason Atlus botched it.

Exactly. There’s town building but it’s introduced annoyingly slowly. My main gripe with it is that you need materials to build things, which in practice just means running back and forth to the store to buy what you need.

The reason Dark Cloud 1 worked so well is because you could jump into a dungeon, do six-seven floors, get bored, come out, build a bunch of stuff with all the items you’d gathered, get a bunch of health upgrades/weapon attachments and dive back in. Dark Chronicle is a slog. There’s no point building everything until you’ve reached the bottom of most dungeons (and even then, some towns require you to come back later to complete them). Oh, and it runs at 30fps, Monica’s monster transformation is useless and the only real reason to fish is to improve your fishing skill. There are competitions and stuff but they aren’t worth it.

The combat is better, the invention system is good (although, more than likely, you’ll just use a guide for everything) and there’s a fun golf minigame but everything else was better in the original.
