Legions gets extra spooky trailer ahead of US debut

Legions

Distributor XYZ Films shared a new trailer for Legions, a new gory horror comedy film coming to U.S. video on demand this month.

The new trailer shows off the Argentinian folk-horror film, directed by Fabián Forte, and starring Germán de Silva, Ezequiel Rodriguez, and Lorena Vega. The film premiered overseas last year but is finally making its way stateside this month.

Focused on Latin mysticism and folk legend mixed with good old demonic legends, the film follows a powerful former sorcerer that must escape from a psychiatric ward to save his daughter from evil forces.

Here’s a blurb on the film which many liken to a tribute to Sam Raimi’s classic The Evil Dead, plus the new trailer, via IGN:

Antonio Poyju is a warlock who belongs to a powerful blood lineage. Antonio is being held in a asylum against his will. After an omen, Antonio understands of a great imminent danger. Her daughter Helena, heir to her blood, will be sacrificed by an evil entity. Helena lost her faith and disbelieves her father. Antonio must escape using his sorcerer power to rescue his daughter. For this, he must reconstruct the bond and make his daughter believe in him and in his own power.

Legions will be available exclusively via streaming services in the United States beginning January 19th.
