Leaked Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Allegedly Has Code Pointing to PC Port

While we know the Final Fantasy VII remake is timed-exclusive to PS4 until 2021, a leaked playable demo for the game has been somehow obtained by folks, and some users are datamining the demo build. Within the demo are allegedly files and code pointing to a PC version of the game.

The demo has been datamined and broken down by users like roXyPS3 (via Reddit), noting the demo code has mentions of higher resolutions (the PS4 version is allegedly locked to 1080p and 30FPS), and graphics tech via both AMD and Nvidia.

Square Enix hasn’t confirmed the existence of the demo itself, nor have they confirmed any other version of the long-awaited remake is planned beyond it’s timed exclusivity.

The last mainline game in the franchise, Final Fantasy XV, eventually got a PC version – but not until two years after its PS4 and Xbox One release.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is launching for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
