Asaloda Games has announced Lands of Koastalia, a city builder with a unique gimmick of having what they refer to as an “irregular grid”.

According to developer, their procedurally generated worlds will have grids that allow players to build unique and natural looking villages thanks to their special building algorithm.

Here’s a rundown of the game, plus announcement trailer:

Lands of Koastalia is a relaxing city building game with a unique building system. As Mayor, your primary mission is to keep people happy.

Craft natural-looking villages, manage resources within and across them, explore an island, and meet the needs of your residents.

Features

  • Unique building system – The game offers you to settle on a uniquely generated enchanting island. You will find a creative building system that is based on an irregular grid and allows you to build natural looking villages. You can literally create different buildings by just drawing shapes on the grid. Our special building algorithms will generate a unique building each time, bringing an element of visual charm to your village.
  • Great for relaxation – The game has a huge focus on its visual part. It’s very pleasant not only to build a great city, manage resources, automate things, but also to just relax and draw your village like a painting on an island as a canvas.
  • Resources Management – While your population grows their needs become more and more complex. Build production chains in order to fulfill all the needs of your residents. Strategically settle villages around different resources, and manage production and supplies to thrive in this tranquil and visually captivating world.
  • Difficulty Levels – We like both relaxing experience and resource management challenges, so the game will have different difficulty levels to meet those two worlds.

Lands of Koastalia is set to launch for PC (via Steam).
