Konami Files Trademark for “Big Boss,” Includes Games, Pachinko, and More

We’ve learned (via Hachima Kikou) that Konami has filed a new trademark for “Big Boss.”

While this is clearly Metal Gear Solid related, considering the entire controversy with Metal Gear-visionary Hideo Kojima, Kojima Productions, and Konami proper, this is probably not related to a new game in the series.

Instead, you only need to look a bit further into the filing, which states the mark is for slot machines and pachinko, alongside the expected games and trading card games classifications.

Recently, a rumor began swirling that Konami would halt their AAA game production – it was quickly dismissed by a Konami representative. It remains to be seen if we’ll see another proper Metal Gear Solid game, however you can read our review for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain here.
