Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced Kin’emon as a DLC character in Character Pack 3 for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4.
The news comes via Ryokutya2089, a Japanese blog dedicated to summarizing information from Famitsu and other Japanese physical press. The announcement (reportedly from the latest issue of Jump) notes the character will be part of Character Pack 3.
Character Pack 2 contains X.Drake and Killer, launching Fall 2020. DLC Character Pack 1 includes Charlotte Cracker, Smoothie, and Vinsmoke Judge, and is available now. The game itself is available on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
“Foxfire Kin’emon” will be an Action Type: Technique character, using his Kitsunebi-ryu sword style to coat his sword in flames. This can be used to wrap up enemies in a large burst of damage. He also can use Haki for increased observation, and to harden his swords.
According to the One Piece Fandom Wiki, Kin’emon is the leader of the Nine Scabbards. These are the retainers of the Kozuki royal family that used to rule over Wano.
Attempting to gather allies to reclaim his masters’ former glory, he met with the Straw Hat Pirates. Now, allied with pirates and the Mink tribe (the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance) he hopes to help take down Kaido of the Four Emperors.
It should be noted Kin’emon also eaten the Garb-Garb Devil Fruit, allowing him to creating clothing (along with armor and weapons) from small leaves and stones. However, Ryokutya2089 notes that he does not appear to use this ability in game.
