Killer Instinct is Getting Arcade Mode a Bit Late

The upcoming Killer Instinct reboot is doing a lot of things differently than most of its predecessors within the fighting game genre. For one, it’s completely free to play from day one, with most of the roster locked behind a paid DLC (or the full edition).

Killer Instinct is adding another stick to the pile, now we have news that the Arcade Mode in game will be locked until the first season is over, meaning it will be inaccessible until all eight starter characters are released. The first six will be available at launch, while the seventh and eighth will be added at some point later.

Until all eight are up, the other main mode outside of online or story will be survival, which is described as an endless mode – obviously a challenge mode of sorts as it only gets harder and harder. There is also a training mode, called simply dojo, which will let you hone your skills when you want to do it against a dummy.

You can view some pretty wicked gameplay between Orchid, Jago and Saberwulf, below:

Killer Instinct is an Xbox One launch game, and is set for release on the same day of November 22nd.
