Square Enix have announced that the 2020 announced game, Just Cause: Mobile, has been officially canceled.
The mobile spinoff was originally meant to launch in 2021, but suffered from numerous delays.
“It is with great sadness that we are announcing the end of development for Just Cause Mobile,” Square Enix Global brand lead Anne-Lou Grosbois-Favreau said.
She added, “As of tomorrow, 3 July 2023, the game will no longer appear on digital stores. It is never easy to put forth an announcement of this nature, especially to our fans who have been awaiting the release. We sincerely appreciate the support you have given us”.
Early access versions of Just Cause: Mobile will be taken down from digital stores and refunds will be issued to anyone who purchased the game’s premium currency.
This is unfortunate news to anyone looking forward to the game. On the bright side, the franchise will still see support into the future as a new mainline title is reportedly in the works. Not to mention a film adaptation is also being worked on.
