John Carpenter Says Halo Infinite is the Best

Legendary filmmaker John Carpenter says Halo Infinite is the best of the series, in a post made not long after the game launched in December 2021.

Halo Infinite is a fun shooter. Immense beautiful production design. Best of the Halo series,” Carpenter said in a new tweet.

The news that John Carpenter says Halo Infinite is the best of the series was naturally received very well from key staff at developer 343 Industries, the folks who took their time making the long-awaited follow-up.

“This is not a dream!! Phew. Time to rewatch Prince of Darkness,” said franchise creative director of Halo Frank O’Connor.

“Wow. Thank you for spending your creative time in our world. And wishing you a happy birthday tomorrow!” said Bonnie Ross, founder and head of 343 Industries.

Our own spaceman billionaire son also chimed in saying that he naturally played the game as well. “Good campaign” said Elon Musk.

John Carpenter has been known to publicly discuss the latest video games he’s playing, both the good and the bad. He has been playing and involved with video games for decades, with a particular liking for Sonic the Hedgehog and the horror shooter series F.E.A.R., even providing the narration for F.E.A.R. 3.

A key note from the positive reactions from notable people and fans alike is that the Halo Infinite story campaign is enjoyable, while they don’t really talk up its multiplayer.

In our own review of the game, staff writer Necro XIII said “Halo Infinite manages to be a good game, better than the other 2 big shooter games released recently” but they “didn’t name this Halo 6 because if they did it would be so far departed from the franchise entirely.”

Furthermore, our review noted it’s probably more fair to call Halo Infinite’s multiplayer a “beta” still as it had numerous issues at launch despite being delayed a year, alongside its controversial player progression system and Season Pass system.

Halo Infinite is available on Windows PC (via the Microsoft StoreSteam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
