The first gameplay trailer for puzzle and dating-sim HuniePop 2 has been revealed- now called HuniePop 2: Double Date.

While we already knew the game was set on a tropical island resort, we now know you can date two women at once, and take them on double dates. While you match three or more matching tokens on the date, the two women alternate.

With each girl having a preference to a particular kind of orb, it adds another layer of strategy. The new grey tokens may also be a way to help the other girl’s “stamina” recover to come back into play quicker.

In addition, the game’s economy, progression, “and more” have been revamped. During the trailer, we see the player making smoothies for the characters, increasing their stats. Gifts will also be making a return (new and old) which can affect the date with special effects.

One final feature touched upon was the “Baggage” feature. Each girl earns up to three special traits as you progress, that grant new effects on dates. For example, Lillian has “The Darkness”, which reverses the effects of Passion tokens and Broken Heart tokens.

The end of the trailer also heavily implies the photos you will unlock will now include two girls rather than just one.

In case you missed it, the developer did confirm the game would be censored on Steam but an uncensoring patch could happen. In addition, the voice actress cast list was revealed.

HuniePop 2: Double Date will launch in 2020 for Windows PC, and Mac (via Steam).
