Last year, Sony introduced gamers to Horizon Zero Dawn, an open world RPG that takes place in an Earth where humanity lives in nomadic tribes while fending off gigantic robotic beasts that serve as both predators and prey. What we saw at the time was gorgeous, but as impressive as it was, it didn’t reveal many of the RPG features that players were told to expect.
The new video shown today at E3 finally gave us a peak at the crafting and dialog systems, with the main character Aloy using them all while coming to the aid of a fellow tribal whose village was under attack by “corrupted” beasts.
In the video, players can see examples of item harvesting from enemies, dialog choices, crafting of weapons, and the overworld map. Though the emphasis is still on the game’s action elements, it should please open world gaming enthusiasts to see a bit more depth to the title than previous trailers revealed.
Developed by Guerrilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn is on schedule for a February 28th, 2017 release.
