Earlier this morning The Pokemon Company let out a press release that showed off several new Mega evolutions, Pikachu costumes, and so on. However, there was something quite interesting buried at the bottom of their press release – Horde Battles with Pokemon Trainers.

Featured above, we’ve gotten a small teaser at what Horde Battles can look like with trainers, when they were previously only possible with random, wild Pokemon encounters. Up to five Pokemon trainers can coalesce on you at the same time and challenge you, meaning if you’re not careful you could be overwhelmed!

Naturally, if you encounter a five person horde battle, you’ll get a much larger boost to your Pokemon’s experience, although it hasn’t been made clear how frequent or how balanced these will be. If these battles are anything like the random horde battles, they’ll probably be a piece of cake. Still, it’s nice to see a few new tricks coming to the new ports for Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is are coming to the Nintendo 3DS on November 21st in North America and November 28th in Europe.
