Joseph Staten, most known for being the cinematic director for the original Halo trilogy and recently head of creative for Halo Infinite, has left Microsoft.
Staten confirmed an earlier report of his departure via a tweet expressing his thanks to those he had worked with over the years.
According to the ex-Microsoft developer, there is more information about his departure, and probable future, that’ll be shared later.
Hey folks, I am indeed leaving Microsoft. I'll have more info to share soon, but for now, I'd just like to thank all my @Xbox colleagues for all their understanding and support as I embark on a new adventure. https://t.co/oMR0LXOzZb

Over the past year, there has been a number of long time employees leaving since the launch of Halo Infinite. Key members include the multiplayer director, studio engineering director, and even founder/studio head Bonnie Ross.
Staten’s case is a little different as he was a part of Microsoft and only aided 343 Industries on Halo Infinite, after they had seen other departures during the game’s long development. However, he is indeed another figure long term Halo fans will see no longer be attached to the IP.
Halo Infinite is available on Windows PC (via the Microsoft Store, Steam), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review on the game here.
