Arc System Works have updated the Guilty Gear -Strive- website, detailing more about the fighting game’s online modes.
The updated How To online section of the website details three major aspects of the online mode. These are rollback netcode, the Tower System, and finding opponents to fight.
Using the same kind of network as Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R on Steam, Arc System Works promises the rollback netcode allows “a great match experience, regardless of the distance between the players.” In short, rollback predicts what a player’s input will be, and should it be wrong roll the fight back to the last correct point.
The Tower System is a form of the Online Lobby, assigning players to a floor with others based on their skill level. Keep winning, and players move up the floors. There is also a free for all floor for players of all skill levels.
Players can also enter matchmaking while in Training Mode, freely choosing foes in the lobby. Player Match allows players to fight against their friends online, and set up rooms with special restrictions and rules. Finally, there is Online Training, to help practice with other players.
We previously reported how the game’s Arcade Mode was revealed to have branching stories on the official website, along with other single-player features.
Guilty Gear -Strive- launches April 9th, 2021 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
