Arc System Works have updated the Guilty Gear -Strive- website, revealing the fighting game’s Arcade Mode will have branching stories.

The new How To page for various game modes has been added to the website, detailing the features of Tutorial, Arcade, Mission, Survival, and Training.

Tutorial will feature Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, with the advise changing based on how you input commands and how skilled you are. The two will also banter between themselves as they spar.

Arcade Mode will take players through a character’s story, but offer different paths depending on how well the player fights. Should they struggle, other characters can also jump in to help you.

“Make your way through a series of matches as you enjoy each character’s story in this mode.
The story branches off depending on your performance in the matches. When you find yourself in a real pinch, another character shows up to fight at your side!
Play again as the same character to enjoy a variety of conversations, depending on the route you take.
As you improve at the game, the world of GGST opens up for you!”

Mission Mode will challenge the player with a series of challenges that can help teach techniques players can bring into other matches. Survival Mode is an endless series of matches against the computer, while you have limited health. More powerful foes appear after a certain number of victories.

Training allows you to tailor your opponent to react with a series of actions after blocking, being hit, recovering, and more. This can allow players to create specific scenarios to prepare for.

Finally, the game will have local and online versus. While the details on this were not included at this time, the online mode is boasted as being set up so players “can find players right around your skill level!”

Guilty Gear -Strive- launches April 9th, 2021 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
