Google Announces Their Apple Arcade Competitor – Play Pass

Google have announced their Apple Arcade competitor – Play Pass, an app and game subscription service for Android phones.

For $4.99 a month, users will have access to 350 apps and games that will be “completely free of ads and in-app purchases.”

Games will include Thimbleweed Park, Evoland, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Terraria, Reigns: Game of Thrones, Monument Valley 2, Stardew Valley, Bridge Constructor Portal, Limbo, This is the Police, 60 Seconds! An Atomic Adventure, and more.

Family managers will also allow up to five other family members to share Google Play Pass. Users can also start with a 10-day free trial. For a limited time, users can subscribe to the service for $1.99 a month for the first twelve months.

The service may be in response to Apple’s Apple Arcade, announced earlier this year, though it will be interesting to see if it has any synergy with Google Stadia.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.
