The God of War television series was just announced and the team behind it are already discussing their plans for its upcoming release.
We already know that it’s based on the 2018 reboot/sequel version of Kratos’ long running tale, which began back on the PS2. However, its production team say it will remain “incredibly true” to its source material.
“We do incredibly well with adaptations, from Invincible to The Boys. I mean, we just covered so many of them, right? And so we know that there’s such a passionate fan base for God of War,” Amazon Studios head Vernon Sanders said (via Collider).
He added, “But the thing that we’re always looking for is whether there is a real emotional core, if there’s a real narrative story, and I think [that’s] part of what makes God of War so special”.
Sony Santa Monica Studio creative director Cory Barlog is set to serve as the executive producer for the upcoming series, as he worked on the God of War franchise since its inception.
