Season 2 of Goblin Slayer premiered earlier today on Crunchyroll.

For those unfamiliar with the story, based on the light novel by Kumo Kagyu, the world of Goblin Slayer shows goblins as far more capable and depraved compared to RPG tabletop and video games. Those who are unprepared can be overwhelmed, and suffer horrifically.

The titular Goblin Slayer is an adventurer who has taken on the job of killing these goblins, a task others would consider beneath them. As he gathers companions, he aids them in his mission of vengeance, where each encounter could be their last.

The first season of the series premiered back in 2018, with the new season announced back in 2021.

Goblin Slayer recently made news in the United States when a Republican lawmaker cited the series as an example of “obscenity” in school libraries.
