Goblin Slayer Anime Second Season Announced

Goblin Slayer Second Season

White Fox have announced the second season of the anime adaption of the dark fantasy adventure Goblin Slayer.

MyAnimeList reports the announcement came today at GA Fes 2021, along with a teaser image for the anime (seen below). A premiere date was not announced at this time.

For those unfamiliar with the story, based on the light novel by Kumo Kagyu, the world of Goblin Slayer shows goblins as far more capable and depraved compared to RPG tabletop and video games. Those who are unprepared can be overwhelmed, and suffer horrifically.

The titular Goblin Slayer is an adventurer who has taken on the job of killing these goblins, a task others would consider beneath them. As he gathers companions, he aids them in his mission of vengeance, where each encounter could be their last.

The final episode of the first series adapted chapters 12 and 13 of the light novel, and chapters 14 and 15 of the manga. However, some prior episodes covered three of four chapters of the manga at once, and up to three chapters of the light novel.

As volume 5 of the light novel was adapted into the Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown movie, it is likely volumes 6 and onward will be adapted.

You can find the announcement trailer below.

You can find the rundown on the series (via Crunchyroll) below.

“I’m not saving the world. I just kill goblins.” Rumor has it that, in a certain guild in the middle of nowhere, there is an extraordinary man who has climbed all the way to the Silver rank just by killing goblins. At the same guild, a priestess who’s just become a new adventurer has formed her first party… and the man who ends up rescuing that party when they get into trouble is none other than the Goblin Slayer.

The first series of Goblin Slayer is available on Crunchyroll, and Funimation.
