Those who are part of the Steam community no doubt laugh at all the crazy simulator games that have come out recently. As someone who has been a part of the hilarious conversation threads that spring forth from these games, I’ll admit that teasing the folks that buy them is a bit crass if not downright childish.
Still, you also have to also admit that chopping wood and taking out garbage isn’t exactly what any rational hobbyist thinks of when plunking down their credit card to buy a new game. Doing mundane tasks isn’t what gaming is about…right?
What started as a joke between developers has, if the pre-order page is to be believed, become a full-fledged game. A goat simulation game, of all things.
Those responsible for this “game” claim it is all about physics and basically encourages the player to cause as much havoc as a goat can…including, quote, “chasing people around with park benches stuck to your tongue”. Sounds amazing so far.
Word is that a Steam release is imminent, and the game will incorporate leaderboards as well as copious amounts of tongue-lashing action.
As hilarious as this might be, it goes to show you how easy it is to turn an idea into a fully functional game in today’s very approachable indie gaming scene.
