Genshin Impact update 4.0 is out, the latest version of the constantly updated MMO, allowing underwater exploration in its Fontaine region.
Unfortunately, when entering underwater areas, players immediately learned that the characters have their hindquarters censored by a water effect.
A Twitter user uploaded a video of themselves traveling underwater when they found a strange water effect appears over their characters’ hindquarters whenever it is turned towards the camera:
The video seems to depict the English version of the game.
This effect is present even when a male character is being controlled, perhaps out of laziness from the developers, as it seems obvious the water effect was meant to censor any potential upskirts with the female characters, due to them being underwater.
Even certain “offensive” names have been banned from use, such as “Kiryuu Coco”.
Such censorship has become an epidemic in the West, and it has grown to the point that even Japanese versions of games are forcibly censored to pander to corrupt Western sensibilities that are offended by everything.
Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store and official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our Genshin Impact review here (we recommend it!).
