If Pqube would be the publisher for Ace Attorney I’m sure it would get a physical release, but Capcom doesn’t care.

The standard versions for PS4 and Vita are already on Amazon.

I don’t know about the limited edition shown above and which retailer offers what pre-order bonus, but the Mr. Happiness Edition for PS4 and Vita are Rice Digital exclusive.

Big publishers never care.Funny thing since they are the ones with the available funds to pull retail.

Awesome. I already preordered the Mr Happiness edition. PQube have been pretty based with localisations, maybe they can become European version of XSEED.

Kinda wish they would at least offer it in an online store in limited quantity (and I don’t mean like 2500 copies).

Despite NISA being a shit company, they’re pretty good as distributors at least.

Will it be already fixed tho?

The japanese version on Vita was known as “Double Loading” with also poor framerate performance, and it needed a 1.4GB patch in order to fix shit.

Dodged a bullet by reading the user reviews

Still never knew why criminal girls was censored. Censored or not, no parents should be buying it for their kids. if you’re not old enough to buy it yourself then it wasn’t meant for them.

Nothing was gained, they only managed to piss off many of the actual target demographic.

The games localization had a low budget and they were worried about it getting rejected by the ESRB so they edited it first. It costs a lot of money to submit works for rating.

Despite people often using games like Senran Kagura as an example of games not needing censorship the SK games for example still only got a 16+ rating, while Criminal Girls got a 18+ in EU so there was obviously more to it. (I haven’t played the game personally).

Even so, how could games with full uncensored/naked people/partially depicted sex scenes (Witcher/God of War) get by with M/18+ but they are worrying about that game passing with M/18+.

I think a combination of loli’s, torture and ropes had them worried.

The European version of XSEED is Marvelous (it was Marvelous that founded XSEED) and yeah I agree, they started to be based when they announced Stein’s Gate 0 for the PSVita and PS4 when even JAST hasn’t said anything about bringing the PC version.

They completely redrew the artwork to remove all references to bondage, citing “power distance” and claiming that it was actually better fanservice because “more skin is exposed”. If anything it’s worse, I cancelled my Grand Kingdom preorder over it and plan on buying it used.

It looks like a bad rail shooter, to be honest. Pacing is slow, enemies are just anime girls… just meh. Doesn’t look good at all.

On that note I’m really looking forward to the time when Sekai Project submits The Labyrinth of Grisaia to the ESRB to see what they say.

I mean it contains child rape, rape by a childs guardian, rape treated as a joke (complete with SD characters), real incest, child cannibals among other things. It’s going to interesting.

  53. Smug

Do you mean for the western “release” on Vita (nevermind that Sekai Project love to bloat themselves in projects and complete them with a snail’s pace, so never ever, not that it is a bad thing tho) or for the PC release? (which has no rating board but that wont stop them to censor it)

Sekai Project is also terrible in my book for shutting down fantranslation teams and using their work for a profit.

I have the original japanese releases on Vita, though I admit I didnt go past the first VN yet. I remember it obviously got any sex scenes removed (or censoring nude boobs, like Amane wearing a bra instead of outright flashing her tits) though it also got new CGs that arent present on PC. I dont remember any sexual jokes to be removed, but I might be wrong as it’s been quite a while I’ve read both versions, in order to make a proper comparison.

Also yeah expect terrible translation from Sekai Project, because I heard it’s subpar compared to the fantranslation on Fruit of Grisaia.

The original Japanese limited edition and Mr. Happiness only had four DLC costumes.

You miss out on the Ripped Uniform DLC (which you might be able to purchase separately), but you get the soundtrack, wall scroll, and *screen cleaner* in exchange.

The importing doesn’t help with sales here in the West. That and we all have to pay a higher price for it plus the overseas shipping fee to get it.

It’s in our best interests as gamers to get KT grow some damn balls and bring it here.
