Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 “Flipped” Available Now; The Rock, Spider-Man, New Mechanics, and More

Fortnite Chapter 3 Spider-Man The Rock

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is available now; featuring a flipped island, new features, The Rock, Spider-Man, and more.

As previously reported, Epic Games asked Fortnite leakers and content creators not to leak Chapter 3. 24 hours later, a TikTok ad then leaked. What was seen has mostly come to pass- where players fended off the Cube Queen in Chapter 2’s “The End” event, as she tore open a portal for what seems to be an alien invasion from The Last Reality.

Jonesy had been captured The Imagined Order, but was freed by The Foundation- played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In game audio logs had hinted at this casting, along with Foundation’s armor resembling The Rock’s tattoos.

As players fled for their lives, the entire island began to tilt, and ultimately flipped upside down. Plunged into the water, players see the island turning over, even after The Last Reality invasion is foiled.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 “Flipped” promises a new map, and earning Battle Pass XP outside of the battle royale mode (such as via Accolades in Creative Mode). The latter will earn players outfits, including the new Spider-Man outfits (the Daily Bugle is even part of the new map). Players are also now able to slide on slopes and swing through the air, granting new ways to move around the map and evade foes.

In addition, players can also set up camps to heal mid-match, or store items for use in later matches. If players keep winning matches, they earn a Prestige Crown. This grants extra XP, but also draws attention to other players. Those who keep their crown (and their head) will earn an exclusive emote.

Players will need to deal with intense weather such as tornadoes and lightning storms as they fight to be the last man standing. Finally, there will also be new items and weapons to use.

Fortnite is available on Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Android.
