We’ve been covering the ambitious The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind mod for its sequel, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, for several years now. The long-awaited mod rebuilds all of Morrowind in the Skyrim game engine, and now the mod is shaping up more than ever.
Featured above, the first real look at gameplay in the project was shown off during the week of Gamescom. The gameplay walkthrough is focused on a regular old quest, however, the rebuild is looking fantastic.
If you’re a fan of Morrowind, you’ll notice some big differences, like the huge number of dialogue choices when interacting with NPCs. There’s even voice acting – again, this is entirely produced by fans and to avoid legal action, made entirely free.
“While we want to show off iconic things like levitation, cliff racers, and new dungeon types, we felt the need to show something more polished and presentable for Gamescom,” the team says in the video.
The Skywind team promises more gameplay “in the coming months that will give you a rougher but more in depth look into the current state of the game and its unique systems.”
