Fire Emblem: Three Houses DLC Wave 4 Trailer, New Side Story, The Fourth House, and More

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Nintendo have shared a new trailer detailing DLC Wave 4 for Fire Emblem: Three Houses, including a fourth house and a new side story.

At this time, even the official website has not updated, so we are relying purely on the trailer itself and it’s description.

The trailer details the “Cindered Shadows” side story, and the secret town deep under Garreg Mach Monastery called “The Abyss.” The area is home to those who have their own reasons to hide away from the world.

One of these is the Monastery’s “secret fourth house”- the Ashen Wolves. With only four “students” and no teacher, the player can still recruit them, and take part in new quests, paralogues, and use new classes.

The Ashen Wolves include Balthus, Hapi, Yuri, and Constance. Each also seem to have access to new classes, though these may also be existing classes, with each character having their own special skin for it- as many of the existing characters do. However, those costumes reflected how the characters looked after the time-skip event in the game, and none of characters look like classes that currently exist.

If the characters are under new classes, it appears we have a class that uses gauntlets (along with Balthus wielding a new gauntlet Hero’s Relic, Vajra-Mushti), a Dark Magic using horse mounted class, a caped sword-wielding class (that highly resembles the Trickster class from past games), and a Black Magic using Pegasus mounted class.

It should also be noted that whether a character can use Black or Dark magic (and all spells a character can learn) is determined on a per-character basis, as both Black and Dark magic use the same stat skill (Reason). This would mean Constance has access to Dark Magic, while Hapi has access to both  Black and Dark magic (via Fimbulvetr and Banshee Θ respectively).

You can find the run-down (via the video description) below:

“Deep in the shadow of Garreg Mach lies Abyss, the underground den of Fódlan’s outcasts and home to the monastery’s secret fourth house, the Ashen Wolves. In this side story, you can freely explore Abyss, battle alongside four students from the Ashen Wolves house, take on new quests, and uncover the secrets that reside beneath the surface. Progress through the story to bring your four new subterranean students to the main story as recruitable units and enjoy the new classes, quests, paralogues, and activities that are also added with this DLC. – Part of Fire Emblem: There Houses Expansion Pass. DLC wave 4 will be available on February 12th 2020 in the US.”

Details at this time are scant. We will keep you informed as we learn more.

DLC wave 4 will be available February 12th, in the US. It is also part of the Fire Emblem: Three Houses Expansion Pass.

In case you missed it, main character Byleth was confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the fifth DLC character.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is out now on Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we highly recommend it!)
