While Konami has largely dropped the Suikoden franchise, fans haven’t given up hope on the beloved RPG series. The final Suikoden game is finally playable in English, thanks to a fan translation.

The last game in the series, Genso Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki (loosely translated to Suikoden – Woven Web of the Centuries), finally got a full translation patch via fans over on Romhacking.

Released back in 2012 for the PlayStation Portable, the final Suikoden game is finally playable in English nearly a decade later via three groups of fans: German translators over at Twisted Phoenix Game Translation, the unofficial Suikoden wiki page Gensopedia, and our diehard Suikoden friends the Suikoden Revival Movement.

In total, the entire game’s script includes a whopping 25,000 lines of dialogue, which make up a sizeable 220,000 words that fans had to meticulously translate. The translation patch also includes translations of all the original Japanese graphics, UI, and animated cutscenes as well.

The most Suikoden fans have had to enjoy recently have been live anniversary concerts for the games, as well as new official merch from Konami for the series.

Key staff on the original Suikoden games like creator/director Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawano have since announced their Suikoden spiritual successor – Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. The game was so successful on Kickstarter they’re actually making a prequel called Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, which is launching in early 2022.
