Following the strange reveal and later redaction of said reveal of a Final Fantasy XII HD remake, we’ve learned that Square Enix may actually be developing an HD remaster of sorts for current-generation consoles.

The news comes via a batch of new strategy guides by Prima Games, which are for Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD. 

To accompany the strategy guides for these games, Prima Games are bundling an updated Collector’s Edition Final Fantasy XII guide, which comes with the following:

A revised interior design, brand-new HD screenshots, and comes in at 352 pages. These screenshots were updated from the PS2 version of the game, captured in 720p.

Now this is speculation here, but why would Prima Games throw in an entirely re-done strategy guide for the game, complete with HD screenshots, captured at 720p resolution?
