Final Fantasy VII Remake Cloud Save Data Discovered on Epic Games Store

Final Fantasy VII

Data for cloud saves for Final Fantasy VII Remake has appeared on the databases of the Epic Games Store, suggesting a PC port.

The news comes via EpicData, a website dedicated to monitoring scraping data on the Epic Games Store’s servers. While the entry has scrubbed all but the mention of Square Enix, RPG Site reports at their time of writing featured the code ““{UserDir}/My Games/FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE/EOS/{EpicID}/”. In short, this means Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Epic Games Store would support cloud saves.

It seems Square Enix are becoming fast friends with Epic Games; with both the Kingdom Hearts series and the upcoming NEO: The World Ends with You being PC-exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Even so, games such as Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition came to Steam.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was also a PlayStation exclusive until March 3rd of 2021. Rather than a sudden announcement of the game coming to other consoles, it may be the exclusivity deal forbid even discussions of ports until after March 3rd.

The code also notably references Final Fantasy VII Remake; not Intergrade. It may be the Intergrade content will also be a PlayStation exclusive for around one year. The Intergrade content could then become DLC on PC.

At this time of writing, no official announcement has been made. We will keep you informed as we learn more.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches June 10th on PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In case you missed it, you can find our review here.
