We’ve learned the Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster opera scene was redone with HD-2D, and it apparently features actual opera singing now.
The “pixel remaster” re-releases of the classic Final Fantasy games are meant to present the original game as it looked and played – but in high-definition.
The new report (via Famitsu) confirms not only the Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster opera scene was redone with HD-2D like Square’s other full remakes, it also features actual opera singing in the following languages: Italian, English, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean.

Perhaps this is Square testing the waters to inevitably do HD-2D remakes for all the classic Final Fantasy games, as their president is really keen to make lots of HD-2D games, remakes or new games entirely.
The Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster is set to launch on February 23rd across Windows PC (via Steam), iOS (via the App Store), and Android (via the Google Play Store). The most recent Pixel Remaster release was its predecessor, Final Fantasy V, which released in November 2021.
