After originally being put on hiatus two episodes in due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the fifth season of Food Wars! Shougeki no Soma will resume broadcasting.

Food Wars! Shougeki no Soma follows Soma Yukihira, a middle school student and son of a chef who wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. After closing down his store, Soma’s father leaves for Europe to practice his craft. Before he leaves though, he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary school where many students drop or flunk out before graduating.

While broadcasting will resume on July 3rd, the series will resume from the first episode of the season. As episodes one and two have already aired, episode three won’t premiere until July 17th following the weekly schedule of the series.
