Monster Hunter World will celebrate its one year anniversary with an “Appreciation Fest” running from January 26th until February 22nd.
Both the official Monster Hunter World website and the game’s Steam Community page have announced and detailed what the event will entail.
Along with the Celestial Pursuit, the Handler, Felynes, and Poogies all being dressed in festive garb, player’s daily login bonuses, limited bounties “and more” will contain “very special surprises”. Players also have a chance to gain items and equipment themed around the Appreciation Fest.
In addition, “A special appreciation platter will be available in the Gathering Hub, and items or services at all facilities will be available at reduced costs.”
Finally, all past event quests will become available along-side new special ones “featuring monsters that have had a whole year to build up a grudge and are ready to unleash their frustration!”
One of these seems to be “The Greatest Jagras”, announced on Twitter. It seems larger than the typical Jagras, and the tweet takes great delight in it for those familiar with the meme. (Click on the image to enlarge it)

“The Greatest Jagras” is out for revenge during the first half of the Appreciation Fest (Jan 26 ~ Feb 8)! Gear up and fight this massive foe for a chance of getting THICC rewards!”
It is a 9 Star level event, the location will be the Ancient Forest, and require a HR of 50 or higher to participate.
Another event scheduled for February 8th to February 21st is called “The Naem’s Lavasioth!”, but no other details have surfaced at this time. You can find more details on other events via the official website here.
In related news, Assassin’s Creed: Origins themed content has now been added to the game. In addition, the first expansion for the game, Iceborne, was confirmed alongside new Geralt DLC – you can read more about that here.

What is the Appreciation Fest?
A special event held at the Gathering Hub. Visit Astera’s Gathering Hub, the Celestial Pursuit, and you’ll find it bedecked with balloons, and the staff garbed in their celebratory best! The Appreciation Fest is a great opportunity to get together with hunters from all over the world!
For the duration of the event, almost all previously released event quests will be made available, as well as some special event quests.

The Name’s Lavasioth!
You’ll get some new login bonuses and limited bounties too! As a login bonus, you’ll get two Lucky Vouchers plus an Appreciation Ticket. There will be daily limited bounties where you can earn Appreciation Fireworks and Appreciation Tickets.
You’ll get new backgrounds, titles, and poses for your Guild Card, as well as the Sparkling Party costume for your Poogie.
- The Handler’s Friendly Felyne Costume is available for a limited time only.
- Items or services at all facilities will be available at reduced costs.
- A special appreciation platter will be available in the Gathering Hub.
