EVO 2023 COVID-19

The air in EVO 2023 was filled with excitement for fighting games, and apparently COVID-19.

Multiple attendees at EVO 2023 have tested positive for COVID-19 a few days after the event concluded, some of the more prominent ones being professional player Justin Wong and YouTuber/podcaster Woolie.

EVO 2023 did have some precautions surrounding COVID-19, but they were somewhat relaxed for the most part, you can read them below:

Event attendees will adhere to the Evo 2023 COVID-19 guidelines below, Evo’s Code of Conduct, and the Michelob ULTRA Arena entry requirements. You should expect to go through a screening process before entering the Mandalay Bay Exhibit Halls or the Michelob ULTRA Arena that includes bag searches and metal detectors.

It is highly recommended for attendees of EVO2023 to wear a mask at all times while at the event but it is not required.

If you feel sick before or during Evo, please do not attend.

Other participants such as Peter Lam/Xenosking, Aces_Return, Spinfinite, and Felicity/Felix have also tested positive for COVID.

As of right now, it is speculated that more than 60 people have tested positive for COVID-19 after attending EVO 2023.
