Professional players have taken to Twitter, claiming that their USB connectors melted while using the PlayStation 5 at EVO 2023.

Players Eduardo Cuervo and Kyoku236HS have both posted pictures of their melted connectors,  one of them stating that it only took a set for it to melt.

Another player has also gone on to say the following: “This EXACT same situation happened at our local a few weeks ago. Brand new ps5 too”

Street Fighter 6 was the only game played on the PlayStation 5 at EVO 2023, but it seems that competitive players will be avoiding it from now on, since the last thing you’d want during a set is for your connector to melt.
