ESA denies E3 2024 and 2025 have been canceled

There have been reports coming out that E3 2024 and 2025 have been canceled, though the organization managing the event say the reports are untrue.

The original report comes from information by the Los Angeles Tourism Board in one of their meeting packets, noting both E3 2024 and 2025 have been cancelled prematurely.

The ESA have come out and denied that the events have been canceled in a response to VGC. However, their response also leaves the door open that it could ultimately be canceled as they say “no final decisions” have been made regarding future events.

When E3 2023 was canceled many companies had already expressed disinterest in attending the event, such as major publishers Nintendo, Sega, and Ubisoft. The last time the event was held was in 2021 as an online event, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The last time the event was held in person was in 2019. If the potential cancelation of the event for the next two years are true, then it’s entirely possible that it may actually be the last time the event was held in traditional fashion.
