It goes without saying that Elden Ring has done well for its developer FromSoftware. Its massive sales and critical acclaim means practically every gamer knows what one is talking about when they say its name, and it’s also helped given the company more profile as a result.

Bandai Namco have felt this as well, especially with the launch of FromSoftware’s newest title in Armored Core VI.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Bandai Namco Europe CEO Arnaud Muller said that Elden Ring’s success has given them an opportunity to reach a new audience for Armored Core, a franchise that has existed since the 90s, though hadn’t seen a new game in over a decade.

“This is an opportunity for us to truly widen the audience of the Armored Core games,” said Muller “My ambitions are not on par with Elden Ring, but our ambitions are way bigger than the previous Armored Core games”.

He also said that Elden Ring’s success has made FromSoftware practically a household name in the gaming sphere. Where their products are now viewed as a “guarantee of quality”.

It’s certainly great news for the company after creating dozens of games, such as the aforementioned Armored Core series as well as the Dark Souls franchise which threw them into the spotlight. With even more fanfare thanks to Elden Ring, they hope to continue to ride that momentum.

Elden Ring is available now across Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Armored Core VI is available now for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
