Following some uneasiness when Electronic Arts revealed a titan-less Titanfall spinoff called Apex Legends, fans were understandably frustrated with the direction of the franchise. The company has followed up by promising a proper Titanfall follow-up, alongside other core games.
The company is planning a premium, paid Titanfall game for this year that is a “twist on the franchise,” alongside new entries in the Need for Speed and Plants Vs. Zombies franchises – news confirmed in an earnings release.
Respawn Entertainment teased to “grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences,” a message echoed by Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella who said the developer is “working on more Titanfall for later in the year (yes, I said the T word). We love being able to experiment in this crazy universe!”
Lastly, the same report noted Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (also from Respawn Entertainment) is still on track for a release this fall.
