Dragon’s Dogma 2 finally adds unlimited fast travel

Dragon's Dogma 2

Capcom has released a major update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 titled Dark Arisen, and it tackles one of the biggest complaints players have had since launch: fast travel.

The addition is the Eternal Ferrystone, a new item that grants unlimited fast travel. You will receive it early in the adventure after meeting Brant during the Seat of the Sovran quest, while existing players will find it automatically added to their inventory.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 originally limited fast travel through consumable Ferrystones and a small number of Portcrystals scattered around the world. While the system encouraged exploration and unexpected encounters, many players felt it became tedious during longer play sessions.

Capcom has also added additional Portcrystal locations and made travel more convenient by allowing you to activate Ferrystones directly from the map screen. Together, these changes dramatically reduce the amount of backtracking required.

Several quality-of-life improvements arrive alongside the travel overhaul. Photo Mode now features a free camera, you can disable certain pawn interactions, inn and barber services are cheaper, and pawns gain a new Guardian specialization designed to help protect adventurers from surprise attacks.

Capcom has already confirmed another major update is planned for August, with the large “Dark Arisen” expansion expected later this year.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 was launched in March 2024 across Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
