Capcom has confirmed some interesting news. They’re porting both DmC Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 4 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Featured above, you can view the trailer for the definitive edition of DmC Devil May Cry. The game will be available at both retail and digital storefronts in both North America and Europe on March 17th for $39.99 / €39.99, respectively. It comes with the original game and all its downloadable content, most notably the “Vergil’s Downfall” campaign, as well as some brand new gameplay modes and features.
You’ll also get the ability to play as Dante’s twin brother, Vergil, in the Bloody Palace Mode. There’s also the “Gods Must Die” difficulty which is being poised to bring an “extra depth of challenge,” followed by the “Hardcore Mode” and the “Must Style Mode,” both of which are supposed to make the game feel more like the original. There’s also a costume inspired by the original Dante visage, although it’s sure to come nowhere near as close for some fans.
Lastly, there are some gameplay balancing and improvements that have been added due to fan response, and there are various modifiers (like the new Turbo Mode) which can be toggled on and off during your playthroughs.
Finally, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One some time next summer.
We’re still unsure if this is related to the recent trademark filed by Capcom for simply “Devil May Cry” but, either way, we’ll keep you guys posted.
