We’ve learned the next animated series from Netflix Castlevania series producer Adi Shankar is based on Devil May Cry.

The new animated series is based on the Capcom franchise with Dante as the protagonist, news confirmed via IGN. Shankar describes the new series as a “bootleg multiverse,” teasing “Let the speculation begin. You can read into that all you want.”

Furthermore, Shankar noted he’ll have more creative freedom with this adaptation as he “acquired these (Devil May Cry) rights myself so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t fuck this one up, too.”
