Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition Announced with Playable Vergil; Launches Day 1 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, Other Platforms Later

Capcom have announced Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition during the PlayStation 5 showcase, featuring Vergil as a playable character.

Devil May Cry 5 is available for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review for the game here-we highly recommend it! In fact, it was our community’s Game of the Year 2019.


The official website reveals Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition launches day 1 for PlayStation 5 (November 12th or 19th depending where you are in the world) and Xbox Series X (November 10th).

The video description also notes “Vergil will be offered as paid DLC for Xbox One, PS4 and PC at a later date. Physical version of #DMC5 Special Edition coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date.”

The video and website also reveal the game will support raytracing on next-gen consoles. The game will also feature a playable Vergil (usable in the story and Bloody Palace modes), Turbo Mode, Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, and 120 fps mode. It will also contain DLC previously sold seperatly or as part of preorder bonuses.
