Developer Dambuster Studios and publisher Deep Silver have announced a slight delay for Dead Island 2.
The long-awaited zombie sequel will forgo its original release date of February 3rd to April 28, 2023 across Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
No reason was given for the delay, but given the short amount of added time, it’s likely the delay is mainly for polishing the game and ensuring a clean launch. This delay is only the latest in news for the troubled development of Dead Island 2.
It was first announced way back in 2014, with the original developer being Yager. That team would be dropped and replaced with Sumo Digital, where that team would also later be replaced by the current team, Dambuster Studios.
Despite this delay, they do promise to show off new gameplay and trailer on December 6th during a new showcase, which will be airing on their Twitch and YouTube.
