Red Hook Studios have announced that Darkest Dungeon II has hit over 500,000 sales. This comes after their official launch from Early Access last week, where they state they’ve added 230,000 players since.
During the course of their Early Access run, the game was only available on Epic Games Store. The full launch saw it making its first arrival to Steam, so it was able to market itself to a new larger userbase.
Darkest Dungeon II is the sequel to the popular indie hit, Darkest Dungeon, where players struggled through exploring deep catacombs trying to keep their party members alive and sane.
The sequel expands upon this by having players now explore the grim world beyond the town from the original. These runs introduce new mechanics, such as traveling with stage coach, to keep things fresh and interesting for veterans of the franchise.
Darkest Dungeon II is available now for PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
