“Remaster” can be a scary word for a game like this

how are they gonna remaster the pc version, other than making blighttown run at an acceptable framerate? the pc version already can run at 4k…..

DS on the switch sounds awesome though

Brandon, can you ask about the framerate, specifically on PS4?

Up to Sony isn’t it? I doubt it is a low priority since they are remaking/porting Shadow of the Colossus and many other games presumably due to no backwards compatibility but it has nothing to do with Bandai Namco’s Dark Souls.

Reminder that Demon’s Souls online servers are shutting down in late Feb for anyone who wants to play online one last time.

Finally having a proper port on pc without needing to install a mod to fix everything will be nice. Maybe they will fix the minor issues 60fps brings up. Much rather have a armored core collection remaster though at this point.

I’m guessing this remaster might run on the DS III engine. So one can assume its performance to be similar like Dark Souls 3 on the PC.

Surprised that they would make a DS remaster before the Demon’s Souls one. I was expecting a complete collection of the Dark Souls trilogy.

Oh well. I’ll still buy it.

I hope this isn’t just a shiny coat of paint and they also did things like actually finishing Lost Izalith so its general lack of quality doesn’t drag the rest of the game down anymore.

I expect riots from DS1 fans if this uses DS3 systems (increased gameplay speed, poise being a joke, etc.) but I’d personally enjoy that very much.

Oh really? That kinda surprises me because that would have been the easy way for From.

It looks and runs reasonably good on most systems. Not to mention, that some assets from the previous games have been reused in Dark Souls 3.

Truly the Dark Souls of remakes. Seriously though, this doesn’t even need a remastered version. Demon’s Souls just had the servers shut down and they could have bought that to PC with some new content.
