Capcom teases future Street Fighter news for 2022, news confirmed during the Street Fighter V fall update livestream today.
The news that Capcom teases future Street Fighter news for 2022 was announced by Street Fighter V director Takayuki Nakayama and producer Shuhei Matsumoto.
“For us, Street Fighter V has been a project with peaks and valleys, but thanks to our fans, we’ve been able to accomplish what we aimed for,” Nakayama said.
He added, “We, the development team, will use this experience as a springboard to move on to the next project!”
Matsumoto then chimed in, “While this is the end of this digital showcase series for Street Fighter V, this is more of a ‘see you soon’ rather than a ‘goodbye.’ We look forward to providing you more information next year!”
Lastly, Capcom concluded the fall update livestream with the aforementioned tease:
“We’ll be back with more news about the future of Street Fighter.”
Previously, a ransomware leak from Capcom revealed information on a number of upcoming, unannounced titles – including the existence of Street Fighter VI.
While Street Fighter V: Champion Edition has only been available for Windows PC (via GamersGate, and Steam) and PlayStation 4, the rumored Street Fighter VI is purportedly coming to PC, Xbox One. Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
