Here’s a perfect example of how much goddamn money the Monster Hunter series has been making for Capcom – they’re celebrating the series’ 10th anniversary with a solid gold, 24-karat statue from one of the in-game felines.
Featured above (and below), you can gaze upon a statue that weights 120 grams (about 4.23 ounces), and costs around 2.99 million yen – or roughly $29,174 dollars.
The statue itself is somewhat small, standing at 3.54 inches high, 4.92 inches deep, and 2.17 inches wide – but this doesn’t discredit how limited its production will obviously be.
The statue itself will be made available tomorrow, August 2nd, and it joins other collectibles for the game like a $22,000 dollar ESP guitar, which is based off an in-game sword. For comparison’s sake, here’s that very guitar:
