Those familiar with Devolver Digital’s early publishing days have felt a jolt hit their spine, as soon as the name Broforce showed up again.

Developer Free Lives announced the game’s final update is launching on August 8th alongside its long-awaited Xbox One port.

For those unfamiliar, Broforce is a 2D run-and-gun platformer where you play as 80’s and 90’s action movie stars. This is a massive rush of nostalgia for the people who have followed Devolver Digital since the early days.

Broforce has a really special place in many people’s hearts, and it’s nice to see it being remembered even today. Broforce has been available for Windows PC (via Steam, Microsoft Store, Humble Store), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.

Perhaps it’s fate that today is the announcement of Broforce Forever’s release date and you will once again be fighting for freedom not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution but from annihilation.
