Behold the Tower of Guns for PS3, PS4, and Xbox One

Over the Summer, there was a movie with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt called Edge of Tomorrow. In a battle against a vicious alien race, the Mimics, Tom Cruise’s character, William Cage, finds himself dying in battle constantly. He lives the same battle over and over again, reiterating the same conflict and outcome. Each time he reiterates, he gets better at fighting and combating the enemy, getting a little further and more skilled in his robotic battlesuit, the Jacket.

This is very much like the games we play, where every time we lose, die, or suffer defeat, players get better at fighting and winning the battle. This mechanic lends itself to the newly announced game, Tower of Guns, a game that challenges you to fight your way to the top.

Confirmed for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Xbox One, Tower of Guns comes from Grip Games, the makers of Atomic Ninjas. There are no NPC’s, deep involving stories, or complicated game mechanics to get through. Here is you, the player, in a fictional tower filled with dangerous enemies and gigantic bosses. It is up to you to make it to the top of the tower. The enemies are varied, dangerous, and completely randomized, as well as the rest of the randomly generated levels.

There isn’t anyone to save or hostages to rescue. Everything in this tower is the target for termination by your own firepower. However, each time you die, you will better equipped with better firepower and have the chance to earn a large array of upgrades to even the odds in the tower. It become an addicting old-school based combat mechanic that players will be playing over and over until they reach the top and defeat the tower.
